Mary Cressler is an award-winning wine, food, and travel writer, recipe developer, Certified Sommelier, founder of Vindulge and author of Fire + Wine cookbook.

Mary writes about food and wine on Vindulge, which received IACP nominations for Best Recipe-Based Blog in 2017 and 2020. The website has also won Best Original Photography from the Wine Blog Awards, as well as a nomination for Best Overall Wine Blog. Mary is a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 2, recipe developer, and food writer and with credits in Wine Enthusiast, GQ UK, Serious Eats, Weber Grills Online, Barbecue America Magazine, Oregon Wine Press, and more, and is a frequent judge for wine competitions.

Mary co-founded Ember and Vine, an award-winning catering and events firm specializing in wood-fired cooking in 2015. A frequent guest on Portland’s morning television show, AM Northwest, Mary also teach classes on wine and cooking. 

Mary is also an avid runner, mom of twins, lover of Champagne, former vegetarian turned BBQ fanatic, and lives on a hazelnut farm in the Willamette Valley.
