We were very surprised to learn (after tasting it) that this wine sits at 15.2% ABV because it is silky and elegant, not “hot” at all…maybe a little spicy, but it is clearly well-made and balanced in every way! This does have some Petite Sirah, Carignane and Alicante Bouschet in it, all melding into a gulp of liquid velvet! You might smell some hints of black olive on the nose, and on the palate we taste lots of black fruit all over!

Pair this awesome wine with dry aged steak or a grilled ribeye.

Winery Description

  • Three Wine Company Winemaker and Founder, Matt Cline, has been making wine in California for about forty years. Wow! He was the Winemaker and Creative Director for Cline Cellars—largely known for their incredible Zinfandels--for 16 years.
    Matt started Three Wine in the Contra Costa County AVA (just north of the San Francisco Bay) in 2006 with his wife, Erin, the company’s General Manager. He loves to say, “Dirt Matters,” meaning that most of the work in producing great wines starts with the soil, and “Don’t Screw it Up!” Sustainable farming practices are paramount to Three wines. We love that!
